Juhl Wind Receives Woodstock Hills Wind Farm Operations and Maintenance Contract

With the recent addition of a new contract to provide complete operations and maintenance services to the Woodstock Hills wind farm, Juhl Wind Inc. has expanded its service and maintenance business. The company’s 100% subsidiary received the contract recently. The Woodstock Hills wind farm is located in the city of Woodstock, Minnesota. A community-based joint venture company along with Edison Mission Energy owns the wind farm.

CEO of Juhl Wind, Dan Juhl, stated that the company was anticipating the service business from Woodstock Hills wind farm after the expiry of warranty period for the wind turbines. The company always plans to provide long-term operations and maintenance services for the wind farms it develops. The company is also expanding its system maintenance long-term contracts from its newly developed wind farms. While providing long-term guaranteed performance of the farmer-owner groups’ wind farms, these service contracts also ensure predictable revenues every year to the company. Through this new contract from Woodstock Hills wind farm, the company’s service business has increased by 20%, Juhl said.

Juhl Wind had developed the Woodstock Hills wind farm years ago and is one among the first community wind farm to be constructed in the United States. The wind farm comprises 17 Vestas V-44 wind turbines.
