FAFCO offers Solar Bear above the ground pool solar heat exchanger. Available in parallel and circular channel designs, this solar heat exchanger model is made stable with polyolefin. The heat exchanger is manufactured utilizing glassless material and offered in an un-insulated condition. This product is suitable for low level temperature usage such as swimming pool heating, aquiculture, heat pumps, and hydroponics.
The above the ground pool Solar Bear heat exchanger provided by FAFCO has a header measuring 1.29 m in length and a panel body with a width of 1.21 m. This model is offered in two sizes with an effective area of 3.67 m² and 7.35 m². While normal operating temperatures range from 16ºC to 32ºC, the maximum continuous operating temperature is 100ºC, maximum intermittent temperature is 121ºC, and melt temperature is 170ºC. With a recommended flow of 4 gpm per panel, the heat exchanger can withstand a maximum flow of 8 gpm and minimum flow of 3 gpm per panel.
The Solar Bear heat exchanger provided by FAFCO is non-corrosive and compatible with all frequently used collector fluids. The system needs to be drained before the onset of winter months to avoid fluid freezing. This model is designed to withstand all types of weather conditions and is suitable for regular outdoor use.
