Stony Brook and Tongji University Partner to Promote Global Use of Biogas

Stony Brook University and Tongji University have established a cooperative relationship for sharing technologies to promote the global use of biogas at the EcoPartnership Signing Ceremony at the U.S. Department of State in Washington, D.C., on Thursday, July 11. The ceremony was part of the two-day Fifth U.S.-China Strategic and Economic Dialog.

Pre-Installed Solar Systems for Del Webb Active Adult Communities in Florida

Del Webb, a division of PulteGroup, Inc., and SolarCity, a leading provider of clean energy, today announced that homes in the Del Webb Orlando and Del Webb Stone Creek active adult communities in Florida will include a pre-installed 2 kilowatt (KW) solar system for a limited time. This system will save more than $300 to the homebuyers on their electricity bills every year.

Continuous Satellite Monitoring of Ice Sheets Needed to Better Predict Rise in Sea-Level

The length of the satellite record for the Greenland and Antarctic ice sheets is currently too short to tell if the recently reported speed-up of ice loss will be sustained in the future or if it results from natural processes, according to a new study led by Dr Bert Wouters from the University of Bristol.

Fast Park Answers Growing Demand with Ten EV Charging Station Installations

Last year, according to the U.S. Department of Energy, electric vehicle (EV) sales tripled in the U.S. As market demand continues to grow, offsite airport parking company, Fast Park, installed ten charging stations in three of its 13 markets. The program will be branded FastCharge at all locations and charging a vehicle will be a complimentary service for Fast Park customers.

That's why Iliana Baums, assistant professor of biology at Penn State, is investigating the use of molecular tools to detect signs of stress in corals before they become ill and also to determine just how much oil is lethal to corals.
