Sologen Systems Named as Project Manager for Geopressure Electrical Generating Project

Free Green Energy, LLC announced the engagement of Sologen Systems as the Project Manager for a large geopressure electrical generating project. A total of 200 geopressured wells will be developed in the first stage of this project and these wells will be developed in the states of Texas and Mississippi. Baseload electrical power of about 400 megawatts is expected to be generated by this project. The total cost of this entire project is to be approximately $280 million.

Ampal-American Israel Corporation Acquires 25% Equity Stake in Sugarcane Ethanol Project in Colombia

Ampal-American Israel Corporation has exercised an existing option to convert its existing loan of $22.249 million to acquire a 25% equity stake in a sugarcane ethanol production project that is being developed by Merhav in Colombia. The option exercise agreement was signed between Ampal and Merhav (M.N.F) Ltd. The conversion of the loan and acquisition of the stake is subject to Banco do Brasil’s initial disbursement of a loan. Banco do Brasil is the financer for the project.

Vestas Receives Order for 24 Units of V90-2.0 MW Wind Turbine

An order for 24 units of the V90-2.0 megawatt wind turbine was received by Vestas. The V90-2.0 megawatt wind turbines are to be installed in Huelva in the southern Spanish region of Andalusia. A five-year service agreement, a VestasOnline Business SCADA solution, supply and installation are part of the project.
