1 Million Euro Grant to Look at Environmental Management of Russia's Oil Producing Regions

Environmentally Friendly Pre-treatment Process for Sol-Gel processing

VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland has developed new pretreatment and curing methods that can be used with the sol-gel coating process. With the new pretreatment method, the adhesion of sol-gel coatings can be improved significantly. The method is based on the use of modified CO2 dry ice with particles. It is environmentally friendly and does not cause as much waste as traditional cleaning methods.

Solar Trust of America Begins Testing of Next Generation Parabolic Solar Collector Technology

Solar Trust of America announced that testing of an advanced parabolic trough solar radiation collector technology has been started by its subsidiary, Solar Millennium. The technology, which is known as HelioTrough, is being tested at a solar power plant in southwestern area of the United States. The purpose of testing is to measure the performance efficiency of the technology under commercial operating environment. The testing is performed before the solar collectors are installed at various proposed solar thermal plants across the world.

Cavico Signs Additional Construction Contract with Lilama for Hua Na Hydropower Plant

Cavico Corporation announced that it has signed an additional construction contract with Lilama for the Hua Na Hydropower plant. Cavico, a Vietnam-based infrastructure development company, is expected to earn additional revenues of $11.9 million from this contract. The initial contract value signed by the company with Lilama, a state-owned company, was $4.9 million for the construction work.
