IKEA to Install Bloom Energy Fuel Cell System at Emeryville Store

IKEA, the world’s leading home furnishings retailer, today announced plans to install a fuel cell system manufactured by Bloom Energy at its location in Emeryville, CA – one of two San Francisco-area stores for the Swedish company. Consistent with the IKEA focus on emerging energy technologies, this project represents the first IKEA endeavor globally to convert biogas into electricity through a clean electro-chemical process. The fuel cell system will be installed, commissioned and activated by this summer, 2015.

Serbian Government Grants Reservoir Energy Permits for Brodarevo Hydroelectric Projects

Reservoir Capital Corp., ("Reservoir" or the "Company") is pleased to report that the Ministry of Mining and Energy of the Republic of Serbia, has granted new Energy Permits for the Company's Brodarevo 1 and Brodarevo 2 hydroelectric projects on the Lim River in southwest Serbia. The permits are valid for a period of three years and may be renewed for an additional year under certain circumstances.

New, Mutant Yeast Strain Could Improve Efficiency of Biofuel Production

Researchers in the Cockrell School of Engineering at The University of Texas at Austin have used a combination of metabolic engineering and directed evolution to develop a new, mutant yeast strain that could lead to a more efficient biofuel production process that would make biofuels more economically competitive with conventional fuels. Their findings were published online in the journal Metabolic Engineering in March.
