TerraForm Power and SunEdison Acquire Hudson Energy Solar

TerraForm Power Inc., a global owner and operator of renewable energy power plants, today announced that it will acquire the operating portfolio of Hudson Energy Solar Corporation, a solar project developer that owns and operates solar assets for schools, school districts, and commercial and industrial customers. Hudson Energy Solar is a subsidiary of Just Energy Group, Inc., one of the largest competitive green energy retailers in North America, with over 4.7 million customers.

Skidmore Celebrates Ribbon-Cutting for New Photovoltaic Solar Array

Skidmore College, Rep. Paul Tonko, representatives of the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) and Washington Gas Energy Systems, Inc. celebrated Oct. 7 the completion of a photovoltaic solar array that will annually generate 2.6 million kilowatt hours of electricity. That’s enough to meet 12 percent of Skidmore’s needs and reduce greenhouse gas emissions by the equivalent of taking 412 cars off the road each year.

Ecologists Wait to See Benefits of the Colorado River Reaching its Delta

Last spring, the Colorado River reached its delta for the first time in 16 years, flowing into Pacific Ocean at the Gulf of California after wetting 70 miles of long-dry channels through the Sonoran Desert. The planned 8-week burst of water from Mexico’s Morelos Dam on the Arizona-Mexico border was the culmination of years of diplomatic negotiations between the United States and Mexico and campaigning from scientists and conservation organizations. Little is Known About ‘Center of Marine Biodiversity’ in the Indo-Pacific Ocean

Research on zoantharians, a group of animals related to corals and anemones, by researchers James Reimer of the University of the Ryukyus in Okinawa, Japan, Angelo Poliseno of Universita Politecnica delle Marche in Italy, and Bert Hoeksema from Naturalis Biodiversity Center, Netherlands, has demonstrated how little we know about marine diversity in the so-called "center of marine biodiversity" located in the central Indo-Pacific Ocean. The study was published in the open access journal ZooKeys.

City of Anaheim Dedicates 2.4MW Solar Panel System on Convention Center
