NREL Examines Effectiveness of State-Level Solar Policies

The Energy Department's National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) has published a report that aligns solar policy and market success with state demographics. By organizing the 48 contiguous states into four peer groups based on shared non-policy characteristics, the NREL research team was able to contextualize the impact of various solar policies on photovoltaic (PV) installations.

IRENA, Arizona State University Sign Agreement to Develop Solar Certification Program for West Africa

The International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) and Arizona State University signed an agreement this week to develop a solar certification program for West Africa. The two institutions have teamed up to promote and initiate the implementation of harmonized certification programs of technicians for off-grid, as well as grid-connected solar photovoltaic (PV) energy systems in West Africa.

Enphase Energy Celebrates Cumulative Installation of 3,000 Photovoltaic Systems within Two Years in the Netherlands

Enphase Energy, Inc. today announced the celebration of its second year in the Dutch photovoltaic market as well as the cumulative installation of 3,000 Enphase systems within two years. Translated into numbers, this means that the overall Enphase installations have produced more than 6.5GWh of clean energy so far, equivalent to offsetting over 4,500 tons of CO2.

Trina Solar Sells 50 MW Solar Power Plant in Wuwei to Huadian Fuxin

Trina Solar Limited ("Trina Solar" or the "Company"), a global leader in photovoltaic ("PV") modules, solutions, and services, today announced it has successfully sold its 50 MW Solar Power Plant in Wuwei, Gansu province to Huadian Fuxin Energy Corporation (HK: 00816) ("Huadian Fuxin"). Huadian Fuxin will assume 100 percent ownership of the project from Trina Solar with the completion of the transaction.

WGL Holdings Announces 2.6 MW Bloom Energy Project in Santa Clara County, CA

WGL Holdings, Inc., through its subsidiary, Washington Gas Energy Systems (WGESystems), announced a 2.6 megawatt (MW) Bloom Energy project in Santa Clara County, Ca. (SCC). Yingli Green Energy to Supply 27.5 MW of Multicrystalline PV Modules in Israel and the Middle East
