Uponor Showcases Green Building Technologies at Expo in Shanghai

The theme of World Expo 2010 is "Better City, Better Life". Its objective is to address global urbanisation and explore sustainable solutions for the future.

Finnish indoor climate solutions can be found not only in the Finland Pavilion "Kirnu" but also in the city of Madrid Pavilion, where solar energy is used for ecological cooling. In the German Energy Centre and College and the Pavilion of Innovation, opened in the vicinity of the Shanghai Expo, Finnish know-how is harnessed to serve training purposes. The related systems were provided by Uponor, a company specialising in cooling and heating systems.

- In green building, the importance of building technology has been increasing. This is obvious from the theme of World Expo 2010 Shanghai, for example. Uponor offers a wide range of advanced systems to help reduce the environmental impact of buildings and of living, and we are delighted to see our products appear on several pavilions. Furthermore, the Expo offers Uponor an excellent opportunity to increase its visibility in China, which is a key growth market in Asia," says Georg von Graevenitz, Executive Vice President, Marketing.

The World Expo opened on 1 May 2010, and ends on 31 October 2010. Over 70 million visitors from over 230 countries are expected to visit the Expo in downtown Shanghai.
