REC Solar Gets Federal, Utility and Municipal Solar Projects

REC Solar has been awarded six new federal projects that include five projects from the U.S. VA (Veteran Affairs) Department as well as one from USDA (U.S. Department of Agriculture) Forest Service along with two utility projects. Building on the strong project pipeline of REC Solar, these utility and government systems will be totaling 9.1 MW.

REC Solar will be designing as well as installing five solar arrays for the VA hospitals located in Florida, Arizona and California, with the arrays located on roof, ground and carport-mount as well. USDA Forest Service will be hosting the ground-mounted system having its location in greater Los Angeles in California. REC Solar will also be constructing a ground-mounted array with a 1.1 MW capacity for the Hayward municipal utility in California along with the 1.21 MW solar array for interconnecting KIUC (Kauai Island Utility Cooperative) grid located in Kapaa, Hawaii.

Government agencies are dedicating resources and funds increasingly towards solar projects for combating volatile energy prices arising from conventional energy sources as well as achieving their ambitious goals in energy efficiency. REC Solar is an industry leader in providing solar power while specializing in the grid-tied commercial and residential installations.
