SCHOTT Solar, BPVS to Complete Solar Installation for YWCA

SCHOTT Solar PV and Berkshire Photovoltaic Services (BPVS) declared that they have completed the installation of a 28.6 kW photovoltaic system for YWCA of Western Massachusetts Campus located in Hope housing complex in Springfield.

The phase II of the Supportive Housing Complex, developed by YWCA, of Western Massachusetts, will provide day care facilities, secure home and education facilities for ill treated women and their family members.

The solar system installed over the campus of Hope housing complex is designed and erected by BPVS. The system features 130 patented SCHOTT POLY 220 modules to produce enough power to allow the facility to save over $5,000 in its annual electric power costs. The power generated from the facility is expected to offset nearly 19 tons of CO2 releases every year. The installation received funds from Commonwealth Solar Rebate Program and Green Affordable Housing Development Program being run by Massachusetts Renewable Energy Trust.

Tom Hecht, SCHOTT Solar PV’s President and chief sales officer, said that his company felt honored in working with Campus of Hope. He added that working along with BVPS it’s partner for establishments such as YWCA shows the dedication of SCHOTT Solar in creating job opportunities and above all in bringing about a clean environment that helps in improving the life of every one.
