Green Pointe.Energy has proclaimed that it has completed installing a rooftop solar system at the Crystal Springs Distribution Centre located in Exton. The Hankin Group owns the building and conducts a nationwide distribution of products through it.
The 166 kW Solar System includes 604 panels along with two inverters. It will produce nearly 93% of the total electricity needed by the distribution center.
The solar PV system would not only contribute to savings in cost, but also help to preserve the environment, as it would decrease CO2 emissions by 3421 tons equivalent to planting 137,000 trees or driving 6,220,000 miles on a medium sized car. According to Jason Ulshafer, Green Pointe’s President, it was an honor to work with the Hankin Group that was committed to expanding their renewable energy portfolio. Alternative sources for energy are essential as conventional electric rates keep increasing and their effect on the environment was detrimental.
