NEW Broan Solar-Powered Attic Ventilator Saves Energy

Broan-Nu Tone LLC has announced the availability of a new Broan Solar-Powered Attic Ventilator (SPAV). The product provides reprieve from the scorching heat generated at home due to the absence of attic ventilation. The Broan SPAV increases the attic ventilation and reduces the heat efficiently with least energy consumption.

Karen Formico, marketing manager, specialty products, Broan-NuTone, reiterated the need for a good attic ventilation and how its saves energy. Karen further added that maintaining a good attic system at home would help the house to remain cool during summer and actually would solve most of the problems such as irregular temperatures, moisture build-up and ice formation during the winter months.  The product has an optional cold weather thermostat to use during the winter months to do away with the winter ventilation. The thermostat is so designed that when the room temperature falls below 50 degrees, the fan will be automatically disengaged.

The Broan SPAV is currently available in black, brown or in colors that match and blends with the roof color. The streamlined design of the product allows it to merge with the roof shingles elegantly. The ventilators can be either remote mounted or gable mounted to allow the solar panels to receive maximum energy.  To enable easy mounting on flat and steep roofs, the SPAV can be curb-mounted to make a firm platform and to aid roof water runoff.

Unlike a normal powered attic ventilator (PAV), the Broan SPAV does not require prompting from thermostat to commence functioning. The SPAV is designed to work automatically on detecting the sun light in the morning, avoiding the need for removing the seeped in moisture for cooling the air, thus saving on energy costs.

The solar powered Broan SPAV does not require electricity or other type of fuel to function and does not let out polluting air. With zero maintenance costs, the SPAV provides the user a federal tax rebate of 30 percent on cost and installation of the product. The savings on tax and the incurred energy spending makes the cost of SPAV on par with the customary PAV equipment within the first year. The Broan SPAV, within a span of five years, would save hundreds of dollars on energy bills alone.
