Composite Technology Corporation Offers DeWind D8 Wind Turbines

Composite Technology Corporation provides DeWind wind turbines. The DeWind D8 wind turbine generates maximum power of 2,000 kilowatts at voltage and current of 690 volts and 1675 amperes respectively. The wind turbine consists of a doubly fed generator and an IGBT inverter. The main braking system of the DeWind D8 wind turbine is a central blade pitching unit and is hydraulic, while the emergency braking system is a single blade pitching unit.

eSolar and Penglai Electric Announce Licensing Agreement to Build Solar Thermal Power Plants in China

eSolar and Penglai Electric announced a master licensing agreement to build about 2 gigawatts of solar thermal power plants in China over the next 10 years. eSolar is a provider of inexpensive and reliable concentrating solar power (CSP) plants. Penglai Electric is a privately-owned company that manufactures Chinese electrical power equipment.

Yingli Green Energy Signs Five Photovoltaic Modules Sales Agreements with Customers in Spain

Yingli Green Energy Holding Company has signed five sales agreements with customers in Spain agreeing to supply a total of about 30 MW of PV modules in the first half of the year 2010. These PV modules are to be installed in commercial roof-top systems and in ground-mounted power plants.

Solar Power System Dedicated by Western Riverside County Regional Wastewater Authority, Wells Fargo and SunPower

A 1-megawatt solar power system was dedicated by Western Riverside County Regional Wastewater Authority (Authority), Wells Fargo and SunPower at the West Riverside Wastewater Treatment Plant in Corona. This high-efficiency system has been designed and built by SunPower. SunPower and Wells Fargo financed the system through a $100 million sale leaseback program that was announced by the companies in June 2009.

ReneSola Not to Proceed with Dynamic Green Energy Acquisition

ReneSola has decided to discontinue with its acquisition of Dynamic Green Energy. ReneSola is a leading worldwide manufacturer of solar wafers and producer of solar power products. ReneSola and Dynamic Green, which functions through its wholly owned subsidiary unit Jiawei Solarchina along with other Chinese operating subsidiary units, had announced a share purchase agreement on 23 September, 2009. ReneSola agreed to buy all the Dynamic Green’s shares through this share purchase agreement.

Starwood Energy Group Global Completes Financing and Construction Agreements for 20-MW Solar Photovoltaic Project in Ontario

Starwood SSM1 Canada Incorporated, an affiliate of Starwood Energy Group Global, has completed agreements to finance and construct a 20-MW solar photovoltaic project in the city of City of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. The project comprises 2 × 10 MW solar photovoltaic electricity generating installations. This project is being constructed under the Renewable Energy Standard Offer Program, which is developed and supervised by the Ontario Power Authority. This facility will be one among the largest solar power projects in North America when completed.

Day4 Energy Enters into Solar Module Supply Contract with Hybridyne Power Systems Canada

Day4 Energy has entered into a solar module supply contract with Ontario's Hybridyne Power Systems Canada. The contract represents supply of a total of 5.1 MW or 23,000 solar modules. Atlantic Wind and Solar Inc, a leading utility-scale renewable energy park developer, owns 47.5 percent stake in Hybridyne Power Systems Canada. Day4 Energy is leading provider of cost-effective high-performance solar solutions. Atlantic Wind and Solar had recently announced a new solar project, Newcastle Solar Energy Park, with a capacity of 2.0 MW. The balance of 3.1 MW will be utilized by the company for rooftop arrays in the Toronto area.

Northside Lofts Geothermal Project by Middleton Geothermal Services

The building is a high rise luxury condominium type. For the project, the company had installed a vertical type of ground source loop, to capture the heat from the earth. Middleton Geothermal Services drilled 40 boreholes to conduct the thermal conductivity testing for the Northside Lofts project. Each borehole was drilled to a depth of 500 feet. Due to a suitable location, the Northside Lofts project has benefits of geothermal cooling and heating.
