The corn burning furnace feed corn into the base of the combustion chamber. The thermostat controls the fuel feed system to provide stable temperature. After burning, the left over ashes are dropped into the ash pan. Through this process, the combustion chamber is cleaned automatically.

Hunter Stoves Offers Herald 14 Double Sided Multi-Fuel Stoves

The Herald 14 double sided multi-fuel stove uses Cleanburn technology to burn the fuel efficiently and to improve the heat output with less smoke. It can be opened on both sides and can radiate heat to warm up the living space. The double sided single depth model has a maximum heat output from 11.6 to 12.5kW, and the double sided double depth model has a maximum heat output of 17kW.

HE-2100 Wood Burning Furnaces from Hawken Energy

The furnace features an in-house water fill and a Pex-Al-Pex pipe. The HE-2100 wood burning furnace needs low maintenance. The ash from the furnace can be easily removed without an ash pan, auger or a grate. A safety catch is included on the door to avoid any possibility of firebox blow back.

Ferro Win Grant to Develop Advanced Durability Sealing Systems for Solar Cells

Ferro Electronic Materials, a leading supplier of materials for fabricating photovoltaic solar cells, has been awarded $1 million by the Ohio Department of Development (ODOD) to develop advanced durability sealing systems for solar cells. In this project, Ferro will engineer a vitreous frit system to provide reliable air-tight and water-tight seals for second- and third-generation thin-film solar cells. Ferro will collaborate with the Edison Welding Institute, StrateNexus Technologies, and The Ohio State University, all of Columbus, Ohio, in developing, testing and commercializing this new technology.

Design of Foundations for Offshore Wind and Wave Energy Plants Can be Used to Increase Local Marine Life Populations

Offshore wind power and wave energy foundations can increase local abundances of fish and crabs. The reef-like constructions also favour for example blue mussels and barnacles. What's more, it is possible to increase or decrease the abundance of various species by altering the structural design of foundation. This was shown by Dan Wilhelmsson of the Department of Zoology, Stockholm University, in a recently published dissertation.
