Solutia to Supply Solar Power Plant with Therminol Heat Transfer Fluid

Solutia Inc. (NYSE: SOA) announced today that it will be supplying Therminol(R) VP-1 synthetic heat transfer fluid for Solnova 4, a new 50 MW concentrating solar power (CSP) plant in Sevilla, Spain managed by Abener. Solnova 4 is one of several solar plants which will be located at Abener's Solucar Platform complex and is scheduled to begin producing electricity in 2010.

WePOWER Completes First Wind Training Program for its Dealers

WePOWER announced the completion of its first wind training program for its dealers that was held in Palm Desert, California. The Authorized Dealer Training Program was attended by representatives from more than 100 dealers in United States and from five countries. WePOWER is leading developer and manufacturer of renewable energy systems and Vertical Axis Wind Turbines (VAWTs). The training program was for two days and featured hands-on field training as well as classroom curriculum.

Department of Veteran Affairs Awards $7.8 Million Solar Power Contracts to SunWize Commercial Power Systems

The Department of Veteran Affairs has awarded SunWize Commercial Power Systems with solar power contracts of more than $7.8 million. SunWize Commercial Power Systems is a nationwide commercial installation division of SunWize Technologies. These solar power contracts comprise 10 solar hospital projects that require over 1.1 MW of photovoltaic systems, which are to be installed in various locations throughout the country.

Nordic Windpower Raises $38 Million in New Equity Financing Round

In a new financing round that was led by Khosla Ventures, Nordic Windpower has raised $38 million. Khosla Ventures is a leading investor in clean technologies company. Other companies that joined in the Series C equity financing include New Enterprise Associates (NEA), Novus Energy Partners and an existing investor, Impax Asset Management. Pulsar Energy Capital and I2BF Management are the other participants in this financing round. Since 2007, Nordic Windpower has raised funds in three funding rounds from investors that include NBT AS, Impax Asset Management, and Goldman Sachs International.
