First Solar and Shams Ma’an Sign PPA for 52.5 MW Solar Power Plant in Jordan

First Solar, Inc. and Shams Ma’an Power Generation today announced the signing of a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) for a planned 52.5 megawatt (MWAC) solar power plant in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. The PPA was signed with the National Electric Power Company (NEPCO), the country’s regulatory authority for power generation and distribution, and is valid for 20 years.

Detroit Metropolitan Airport Improves Lighting Efficiency with Eaton LED Parking Garage Lights

Power management company Eaton today announced that its Cooper Lighting division’s McGraw-Edison Valet and Ventus light-emitting diode (LED) luminaires are replacing 6,050 existing parking garage fixtures at the Detroit Metropolitan Airport (DTW) to improve efficiencies and optical lighting performance. The conversion will result in a 66 percent reduction in power consumption with an anticipated overall energy and maintenance savings of approximately $1.2 million annually.
