Hitachi Awards Canadian Solar 18MW Solar Module Supply Agreement

Canadian Solar Inc. (the "Company" or "Canadian Solar"), one of the world's largest solar power companies, today announced that it has been awarded a module supply agreement to provide 18MW of photovoltaic ("PV") modules to Hitachi, Ltd. ("Hitachi") for a solar power project in Japan. The project is owned by Eurus Energy Holdings Corporation with Hitachi as its EPC contractor.

Alterra Power Acquires 202 MW Shannon Wind Project in Clay County, Texas

Alterra Power Corp. has completed the acquisition of 100% of the Shannon wind project, a 202 MW wind farm in late-stage development in Clay County, Texas. Alterra acquired the project from Horn Wind, LLC, a north Texas early-stage wind developer that has successfully developed two other wind farms in the region.

ZSW Commissions ThyssenKrupp to Build Fully Automated Pilot Line for Lithium Ion Batteries

Industrial-scale solar energy and hydrogen technologies are important elements of a sustainable energy supply. Demand for efficient battery cells and battery systems as energy storage devices is growing. ThyssenKrupp System Engineering, a subsidiary of engineering specialist ThyssenKrupp Industrial Solutions, has now been commissioned by the energy research center Zentrum für Sonnenenergie- und Wasserstoff-Forschung Baden-Württemberg (ZSW) in Ulm, Germany, to design and build a fully automated pilot line for the formation of lithium-ion-based battery cells.
