SunPower to Install Solar Power System for Dow Jones

Dow Jones & Company has selected SunPower Corp. to install a solar power system with 4.1 MW capacity at the former’s corporate offices located in New Jersey.

The system will comprise a rooftop installation with 522 kW capacity and 3.6 MW of elevated solar panels installed above parking areas. Once completed next year, this system is likely to produce the equivalent of 15% of the present electricity requirements for the South Brunswick campus of Dow Jones & Company.

Dow Jones & Company, a business information and news publisher, maintains a campus of 200 acres in South Brunswick, New Jersey, employing around 2,000 people.

At the facility, SunPower will install its non-penetrating rooftop product SunPower T5 Solar Roof Tile that combines a frame, mounting system and high-efficiency SunPower solar panel into a single unit. The SunPower T5 Solar Roof Tile system will be tilted at an angle of 5 degrees, which helps double the amount of energy produced for every square meter in comparison with other systems, which are flat-mounted.

The system is partially financed by means of the Solar Loan Program of PSE&G, through which PSE&G provides loans meant for solar energy.
