New Sky Energy has entered into a partnership with 212 Resources for providing a radical and viable technique for waste water treatment that converts contaminated water from oil and gas industries into clean water and extracts valuable chemicals in the process.
The first joint project between the two companies is scheduled to be launched in December 2012. The New Energy-Sky partnership will benefit from the synergy of New Energy’s clean chemical manufacturing technology and Sky’s sophisticated water treatment technologies.
The new waste water treatment technology resulting from the New Energy-Sky partnership will lead to reduction in disposal of brine and create substantial savings from reduced use of bleach, hydrochloric acid and agents for softening water. The use of the new method is estimated to generate 45% to 60% savings in brine disposal and chemical supply expenses in a standard oil and gas field. The other major benefits are the generation of fresh water which diminishes the environmental impact and cuts down transportation charges.
Both New Sky Energy and 212 Resources are recipients of the prestigious Artemis 2012 Prize. The two companies are amongst the top five in the Artemis recognized Top 50 Listing of water technology companies worldwide. 212 Resources and New Sky Energy were chosen from 125 of the leading water technology companies worldwide after assessment by a water technology expert panel consisting of 15 judges.
