GE to Supply Wind Turbines to Golden West Wind Farm in Colorado

GE today announced that it will supply Golden West Power Partners LLC with 147 GE 1.7-100 brilliant wind turbines for the Golden West Wind Farm in El Paso County, Colo. Once operational, the Golden West Wind Farm will produce 249.9 megawatts of electricity, which would be equivalent to the required energy needs of approximately 77,500 homes in the United States.

EDF Renewable Energy and Santee Cooper today dedicated the Pinelands Biomass project which consists of two nominal 17.8 megawatt (MW) generating facilities located in Allendale and Dorchester Counties in South Carolina. The Dorchester facility achieved commercial operation on November 1; Allendale followed on November 19.

California Solar to Join CLEAN LA Urban Rooftop Solar Program

Global Bioenergies Receives German BMBF Grant to Construct Second Industrial Pilot Plant

Global Bioenergies announces its decision to construct its second industrial pilot on the site of the Leuna refinery, close to Leipzig in Germany. This new pilot plant, to be supported by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) through a EUR 5.7 million grant, should include a 3 year study at the Fraunhofer Center for Chemical-Biotechnological Processes (CBP). The pre-commercial pilot is designed for an isobutene production capacity of up to 100 tons per year.
