Washington Gas Energy Systems Partners with Sol Systems to Build, Own and Operate Three New Solar Arrays

Washington Gas Energy Systems, Inc. has announced that it has contracted to build, own and operate three new solar arrays through a financing partnership with Sol Systems. The photovoltaic systems will power the Turtle Bay Resort in Oahu, Hawaii, the KIPP School in Washington, D.C., and Presbyterian Senior Living Services in Glen Arm, Md. Washington Gas Energy Systems will own and operate the solar systems under 20-year power purchase agreements.

Toshiba to Acquire Wind Power Generation Company, Sigma Power Janex

Toshiba Corporation today announced that it will enter the wind power generation business by acquiring Sigma Power Janex Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Kyushu-based Janex Co., Ltd. that operates wind farms in Kyusyu, Japan. On completion of the acquisition, which is scheduled on this November, Sigma Power Janex Co., Ltd. will become a wholly owned subsidiary of Toshiba.
