New Joint Venture to Develop 500 MW of Renewable Energy Projects in India

NTPC, Kyuden International and Asian Development Bank have signed an agreement to form a joint venture firm, which will develop renewable energy projects of about 500 MW of total capacity. The clean technology projects will be established in India over three years of time.

Plantation Energy Inks Contract to Supply Biomass Fuel Pellets

Plantation Energy announced that it has entered into a four-year, $70 million deal with the Japan-based trading company, Mitsui, for the supply of biomass fuel pellets. Plantation Energy said that the contract has provided a secure future for its plant in Down Road, which produces and exports wood pellets.

Himachal Pradesh’ Nathpa Jhakri Project, which is the nation’s largest hydroelectric project, has surpassed the 6000MU power generation target. It is now generating 178 MU in excess of the target to be achieved as per the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) offered by the Power Ministry.
