Efm Automatic Heat Offers DF520 Multifuel Boilers

The DF520 coal stoker boiler features completely automated feed and control. The biomass boiler, offered by Efm Automatic Heat, is provided with an optional oil burner kit to provide oil heat during summer. The coal heat is used in winter. The boiler shell of the coal boiler is designed as per the ASME code.

A major offshore wind farm development rights has been awarded to Vattenfall and ScottishPower Renewables in North Sea, off the east coast of England. The zone was assessed by both the companies for a period of 12 months for its potential and following that, the companies were awarded the development rights as part of The Crown Estate’s Round 3 offshore wind farm programme.

Solarfun Power Holdings to Expand PV Module and PV Cell Production Capacity

Solarfun Power Holdings, a manufacturer of photovoltaic cells, modules and silicon ingots in China, announced the expansion of its production capacity expecting an increase in demand. The company’s photovoltaic cell production will increase from 360MW to 480MW by July 2010 and its photovoltaic module production capacity will increase from 550MW to 700MW by April 2010.

Nautilus Solar Energy, SunDurance Energy, and William Paterson University Sign Agreement to Build Solar Energy Facility

An agreement was signed by William Paterson University (WPU), Nautilus Solar Energy, and SunDurance Energy to construct a solar power facility at the university’s campus in Wayne, New Jersey. The solar power project consists of rooftop and parking lot installations with a total capacity of 3.5 MW. When the project is completed, it will be the largest solar facility to be constructed at a university in the United States.

Biomass Conversion Process of Plant Mitchell Postponed by Georgia Power

Georgia Power has decided to postpone the conversion of coal-fueled Plant Mitchell in Albany, Ga. to biomass as the company is not sure how the industrial boiler emissions will be affected by the future regulations of the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The conversion will take place after the rules are better defined by EPA in April 2010.

Nevada Geothermal Power, a developer of geothermal projects, is developing the Pumpernickel geothermal project. The project is located in the Humboldt County, Nevada. The project property covers an area of 10.34 square miles, and it is 100 percent leasehold. The site has access to the local transmission grid through three interconnect points. The project site is estimated to have a geothermal resource capable of producing 20 to 30 megawatts of power.
