Solar Energy Initiatives’ 800 kilowatt project with the Canon City School District in Canon City, Colorado is completed and expected to be commissioned in January 2010. CECO Environmental Receives Nine New Orders Totaling $8.4 Million

CECO Environmental announced that it has received nine new contracts totaling $8.4 million. CECO Environmental is a leading provider of industrial ventilation and pollution control systems. Rick Blum, Chief Operating Officer and President, remarked that the orders were received from clients in various industries that include cement, chemical, refining, automotive and power industries. The company has four customers in the United States and its other customers are spread across Australia, Belgium, Korea, Venezuela and Mexico.

Solar Panel Installation at Woods Hole Group Headquarters Completed

Woods Hole Landholdings (WHLH) has announced that it has equipped the headquarters of Woods Hole Group with a solar panel installation. The company has teamed up with Beaumont Solar for the renewable energy project. The installation has utilized solar panels from Sun Power. At present, the solar panels from Sun Power are the most efficient panels available on the global solar market. The office building is headquarters for the Woods Hole Group Inc. and its subsidiary, the Woods Hole Group Middle East. The solar power system has 176 panels and occupies approximately 2,400 square foot of space on the roof.

Vestas Receives Order for 40 V90-2.0 MW Wind Turbines from Nordwind Handels

Vestas has received an order from Nordwind Handels GmbH, a German company, for the supply of 40 V90-2.0 MW wind turbines. The contract involves delivery, installation and commissioning of the wind turbines. A ten-year service agreement and a VestasOnline Business SCADA solution are also part of this contract. The installation process for these V90-2.0 MW wind turbines will begin during the fourth quarter of the year 2010 and the entire project is scheduled for completion by the beginning of the year 2011.

Staples and SunEdison Unveil Largest Single Rooftop Solar Power Installation in Maryland

Maryland’s single largest rooftop solar power installation was unveiled by Staples and SunEdison at Staples’ fulfillment center in Hanover. Staples is the largest office products company in the world and SunEdision is a subsidiary of MEMC Electronic Materials and largest provider of solar energy services in North America. The solar installation occupies nearly 175,000 square feet of roof space, which is bigger that three football fields. The rooftop solar installation has a capacity to generate 1.01 megawatt of power.

Solutia to Supply Therminol VP-1 Synthetic Heat Transfer Fluid to Solnova 4 Concentrating Solar Power Plant in Spain

Solutia has been selected to supply its Therminol VP-1 synthetic heat transfer fluid for a new concentrating solar power plant, Solnova 4, in Sevilla, Spain. The 50-MW solar power plant, which is managed by Abener, is scheduled to commence operations in 2010. This plant will be located in Abener's Solucar Platform complex, where several solar plants will also be installed.
