SunPower and SolarPower Dedicate 50-Kilowatt Rooftop Solar Power System at HP’s Indigo Division Facility in Israel

SunPower and SolarPower have dedicated a 50-kilowatt rooftop solar power system at HP’s Indigo division facility in Kiryat-Gat, Israel. SunPower is a manufacturer of solar systems, solar cells and solar panels in the US. SolarPower is an Israeli project developer and solar power system integrator. This 50-kilowatt rooftop solar power system was designed and built by SolarPower by using high-efficiency solar panels from SunPower. The construction of this system started in October 2009.

Largest Photovoltaic Solar Project in California Commissioned by First Solar and NRG Energy

First Solar and NRG Energy announced that the largest solar photovoltaic project in California has started commercial operations. The 21-MW solar power plant was developed and built by First Solar in Blythe, California. The facility was acquired by the NRG Solar, a wholly owned subsidiary of NRG Energy. Southern California Edison (SCE) will buy the electricity generated by the solar power plant under a 20-year power purchase agreement.

Commonwealth Financing Authority Approves 12 New Green Energy Projects in Pennsylvania

Governor Edward G. Rendell said that Pennsylvania, after the approval by Commonwealth Financing Authority for 12 new green energy projects with investments of more than $10 million, is strengthening its position as a leader in solar energy. The proposed projects will have a total installed capacity of slightly more than 9.1 MW, which is enough supply power to about 1,000 homes.

WINData offers two models of meteorological towers that include the 50M-3 and 60M-3. The 60M-3 meteorological towers is a guyed tower model in an overall diameter of six inches. It has an initial guy tension of 0.7 kilo Newton that eventually increases to a maximum guy tension of 1.8 kilo Newton. The inner and outer guy anchor forces of the 60M-3 meteorological tower are 4.4 kilo Newton and 8.4 kilo Newton, respectively. The maximum tower tube stress in terms of tension is 17.2 Pascal, while in terms of compression the stress increases to 42.1 Pascal.

enXco has completed various solar power projects, one of which includes the Sun Harvest Solar project. This project included the installation of a commercial photovoltaic system, which was the first one to be installed in the US. enXco designed this system in partnership with Unlimited Energy and Third Rock Systems. The Sun Harvest Solar project was designed for minimizing the electric energy bills of a school. This project commenced on September 2007, while the commercial photovoltaic system started functioning by December 2007.
