Bosch and Linde Extend Solar Cell Collaboration

Linde Nippon Sanso (LNS), a company of The Linde Group, and Bosch Solar Energy, have announced an extension of their collaboration at Bosch’s new crystalline Si solar cell manufacturing site in Arnstadt, Germany. Under the new agreement, LNS will supply silane and ammonia gas, both critical materials in the fabrication of Bosch’s high-efficiency photovoltaic (PV) cells.

Controlling Loads on Wind Turbine Blades Using Rubber Flaps

For some years, the Wind Energy Division at Risø DTU has been working to develop a method for controlling the loads on large wind turbine blades using a flexible trailing edge made of an elastic material which can be controlled by means of compressed air or hydraulics. Now, the invention, which has been called CRTEF (Controllable Rubber Trailing Edge Flap), has been tested in a wind tunnel with promising results.

Constellation Energy to Support Commercial Photovoltaic Power Systems Development

Constellation Energy announced a solar capital commitment of $90 million to support the commercial photovoltaic power systems development. CPV Renewable Energy to Commence Construction of 152-MW Keenan II Wind Farm

CPV Renewable Energy Company is planning to begin construction of its Keenan II wind farm with the closing of financing for the project. The 152-MW wind project is spread over 8,000 acres and is located in Oklahoma. It is planned for completion by the end of 2010. This facility represents Phase II of company’s plan to develop wind generation project with generating capacity totaling more than 400 MW.

China Hydroelectric to Acquire Three Hydroelectric Power Projects in Yunnan Province

China Hydroelectric Corporation is set to acquire additional hydroelectric projects totaling 78 MW in Yunnan province with the signing of a definitive agreement for acquiring an operating hydroelectric project with a generating capacity of 44 MW. The company is also proposing to acquire additional two operating hydroelectric power projects totaling 34 MW of generating capacity and has entered into memoranda of understandings for that purpose.
