Loblaw Launches "Bring it, Be green" Campaign

Loblaw Companies Limited has launched a new green initiative, "Bring it, Be green" campaign in an effort to encourage its customers in Atlantic Canada to go green. The company is already providing free plastic bags and will continue to do so. Through this new campaign, Loblaw will give away one cent back to the customers for each reusable bin or bag utilized for purchases at Save Easy, Atlantic Superstores and Dominion (Labrador and NL) locations.

Ontario Power Authority Announces Renewable Energy Technology Vendor List Website

The launch of a new website was announced by Ontario Power Authority (OPA), where the suppliers and service providers in the renewable energy technology sector of solar water, solar air, small wind, solar photovoltaic and geothermal can apply to feature in the vendor list. The last date to be included in the website as a vendor is 26th March, 2010. Companies that offer renewable energy services and products to social housing providers and Ontario school boards can be apply to be on the vendor list of this new website.

HWG-400 Marine Wind Turbines Provided by USA Solar + Wind

The HWG-400 wind turbine is a marine model that consists of a combo solar controller. This turbine has a rotor diameter of 1.4 meters. The HWG-400 wind turbine has a start-up and cut-in wind speed of 2.4 meters per second and 3 meters per second, respectively. It generates 400 watts of power at a wind speed of 12.5 meters per second.

Canadian Solar Installs First Ontario Power Authority Approved microFIT Solar System at its Headquarters in the City of Kitchener

Canadian Solar has installed the first OPA (Ontario Power Authority) approved microFIT (feed-in-tariff) solar system at its headquarters in the City of Kitchener. The 3.2 kW DC solar system from the company was installed on the office building, which is already a designated green building, that uses half the energy and water when compared to a commercial building.
