Mass Megawatts Wind Power Achieves Over 70% Increase in Wind Velocity

Mass Megawatts Wind Power announced that data collected in the past month on its first project with the Augmenter System at Hunter, shows higher than expected wind velocity. Incorporating the Augmenter System, the company had anticipated a 55% increase in the wind velocity, while the data shows over 70% increase in its maiden month of operation.

The PVL-68 PV roofing laminate consists of 11 amorphous silicon triple junction solar cells that are connected in series. Each solar cell measures 356 x 239mm. The photovoltaic laminate, provided by Green Energy Products, is encapsulated with ETFE polymer that offers high light transmission.

P3 30 Watt Portable Solar Chargers from Global Solar Energy

Global Solar Energy provides different models of portable solar chargers. The P3 30 watt solar charger has a lightweight design and is specifically designed for expeditions. It has a total weight of 1.5 kilograms and has varying dimensions in closed and open versions. The size of the P3 30 watt portable solar charger in open form is 44 inches X 21 inches, while it measures 8.5 inches X 10.5 inches in closed form. This solar charger from Global Solar Energy generates a maximum power of 30 watts by utilizing voltage and current of 12 volts and 1500 milliamperes, respectively. The compact design of the P3 30 watt portable solar charger facilitates easy transportation and usage.

Bergey XL1 Wind Turbines Supplied by Northwest Power

Northwest Power supplies wind turbines manufactured by Bergey. The Bergey XL1 wind turbine consists of three upwind blades and has a rotor diameter of 2.5 meters. This turbine produces rated output power of 1,000 watts at a rated wind speed of 11 meters per second. The start-up and cut-in wind speeds of the Bergey XL1 turbine are 3 meters per second and 2.5 meters per second, respectively. It has the capability to produce a peak output power of 1,600 watts at a maximum wind speed of 54 meters per second. The furling wind speed of the turbine, provided by Northwest Power, is 13 meters per second.

Leicestershire 1.36kW Solar Power System Installed by Evoenergy

This solar power system includes eight Sharp solar modules with an individual capacity of 170Wp. These solar modules together provide 1.36kW of peak output. This fulfills 56 percent of the total electricity need of the house. For one year, the solar electric system generates 1,017kWh that helps to reduce 577kg of carbon dioxide emission. The electrical usage of the house is 1800kWh per year.

U.S. Green Building Council Awards LEED Gold Certification to Emerson Global Data Center in St. Louis

U.S. Green Building Council has awarded a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold certification to Emerson’s Global Data Center in St. Louis. The energy-efficient center has also been given another award from Sustainable Buildings Industry Council, a 2009 Beyond Green High-Performance Building Award.

With the installation of Solar Panels Plus’ SPP-30 evacuated tube collectors at Homestead Family Restaurant, it has become the only restaurant to establish a solar water heating system in all of Southeastern Idaho. Solar Panels Plus is a producer of solar panels, solar water heaters, and solar air conditioning and heating systems.
